Deana Connors

Deana Connors is owner/operator of Maplebrook Acupuncture, which opened as a community clinic in 2011. Deana holds a Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Tai Hsuan Foundation, College of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, Honolulu, Hawaii. Her training is in Chinese Classical Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is licensed by the Hawaii State Board of Acupuncture. Deana has completed the Herbal Medicine Making course from the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, which required 100 hours of study.

Deana is a member of The People's Organization of Community Acupuncture. POCA is a multi-stakeholder cooperative that includes patients, clinics, acupuncturists, and organizations. She has been a member of Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB) since 2013 and has been a member of the National Acupuncture Detox Association (NADA) since 2011. Membership in NADA required successful completion of their training course including supervised clinical hours.

Deana is proud a member of the Muscogee Creek Nation. She served as a commissioner on the Tulsa Indian Affairs Commission. She also served on the Tulsa Indian Art Fair committee.

Deana is passionate about helping people live healthier, happier lives. Deana has over 17 years of experience helping her patients with health issues ranging from seasonal allergies, colds and flu to more chronic issues including pain, sciatica, digestive concerns, stress, depression, pain from sports or other injuries, headaches/migraines, high blood pressure, and addictions. For more than 28 years Deana has actively studied various traditional techniques such as Medical Qigong, Reiki, Quantum Touch, and Herbal Medicine, used to facilitate healing in people. She has made it her passion to share what she has learned as well as her healing techniques with those who are interested and in need of healing.



DeWayne Baugus

DeWayne Baugus AP, DOM, LMT is a graduate of East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota Florida, where he received his Bachelor of Professional Health Sciences and his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. DeWayne is a Licensed Acupuncture Physician in the state of Florida. DeWayne is a US Army Combat Veteran, where he studied training, psychology and development for the government. He was tasked to develop the training system that all soldiers now have to complete before deploying overseas. DeWayne is also a board member of the St. Clair Butterfly Foundation helping children overcome Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and abusive homes. DeWayne was awarded the East West College of Oriental Medicine Founders Award and maintained his position as class President for the duration of his time in Medical school. Upon graduation of medical school DeWayne was hired as Student Services, Admissions as well as the College Education Oversight Committee while he maintained his own medical clinic.

DeWayne has a special set of skills in working with psychological disorders such as depression, aggression and PTSD. DeWayne started the first Alternative Medicine talk show in Sarasota Florida focusing on alternative therapies with numerous guest Physicians, discussing how Acupuncture and Complimentary medicine integrates with western Medical Doctors bridging both disciplines for better healthcare for the community.

DeWayne has over 10 years of hands on clinical experience working with patients' physical needs and 20 years of experience helping patients resolve social and environmental issues. DeWayne has studied multiple disciplines of Oriental Medicine ranging from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Japanese Acupuncture, Korean 4 Needle Technique, 5 Element and Modern Integrated techniques and Tui Na (Chinese manual manipulation). DeWayne combines these modalities to customize treatments for each individual patient.
