Dr. Baugus was a professor at the East West College of Natural Medicine. He is familiar with teaching at the basic and advanced levels. That said, we are interested in mentoring, working with, and assisting those training to become Acupuncture Professionals or those interested in holistic medicine, wellness and alternative treatment methods.

 

We have immediate openings specifically for pilates and yoga instructors. You must be a certifed Group Fitness Instructor through the American and Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA), and additionally certified in Pilates or Yoga as well as CPR. We look forward to hearing from you!

Meet Dr. Baugus

DeWayne Baugus AP, DOM, LMT is a graduate of East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida, where he received his Bachelor of Professional Health Sciences and his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. DeWayne is a Licensed Acupuncture Physician in the state of Florida as well as a licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). He has been practicing since since 2006, over 14 years. During this time, Dr. Baugus has administered over 20,000 individual acupuncture and massage therapy treatments.

 

Dr. Baugus is also a US Army Combat Veteran, where he studied training, psychology and development for the government. He was tasked to develop the training system that all soldiers now have to complete before deploying overseas. DeWayne is also a board member of the St. Clair Butterfly Foundation helping children overcome Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and abusive homes. DeWayne was awarded the East West College of Oriental Medicine Founders Award and maintained his position as class President for the duration of his time in medical school. Upon graduation of medical school, DeWayne was hired as Student Services, Admissions as well as the College Education Oversight Committee while he maintained his own medical clinic.

 

DeWayne has a special set of skills in working with psychological disorders such as depression, aggression and PTSD. DeWayne started the first Alternative Medicine talk show in Sarasota, Florida focusing on alternative therapies with numerous guest Physicians, discussing how Acupuncture and complimentary medicine integrates with western Medical Doctors bridging both disciplines for better healthcare for the community.
